Pope Leon XIV Arrives in Spain with 33‑Member ‘Mini Vatican’ Delegation

Pope Leon XIV lands in Spain accompanied by a 33‑person official entourage designed for maximum efficiency, divided into political, security and logistical units. The delegation is led by Peruvian Edgard Rimaycuna Inga and Italian Marco Billeri as chief secretaries.

Security responsibilities fall to the Vatican Gendarmerie and the Swiss Guard, coordinating with 23,500 Spanish officers on the ground. Two papamobiles will be escorted throughout the peninsula.
