Rain Delays Rafa Jodar Match Against Taylor Fritz in Washington

Heavy rain storms in Washington forced the postponement of Sunday's scheduled tennis match at the Mubadala DC Open. Spanish teenager Rafa Jodar will now face top seed Taylor Fritz on Monday afternoon in the rescheduled contest.

The 19-year-old Madrid native reached this stage after securing a dramatic three-set comeback victory against Alejandro Tabilo. Jodar defeated Tabilo with a scoreline of 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 to continue his strong performance in his first full professional season.

The young Spaniard has already secured a career-high ranking of world number 15 thanks to his run in the tournament. A victory over Fritz would elevate Jodar further to the 12th position in the global rankings.

Fritz previously defeated the Spanish prospect earlier this year during their encounter in Delray Beach.
