The second heat wave of the summer began last week, enveloping much of Spain in extreme temperatures. The national meteorological agency warned that both daytime and nighttime temperatures will remain very high, with shade readings expected to hit 44 °C.

Such conditions pose serious risks for outdoor activities, vulnerable populations, and elevate fire danger to critical levels. Roberto Brasero highlighted that red heat alerts persist in Lleida, Aragon and Valencia, urging the public to take precautions.
