Santiago Bernabéu Prepares for the Pope's Arrival: Giant Cross and Stage on Castellana

Madrid's iconic Paseo de la Castellana is being transformed with a monumental stage and a giant cross for the upcoming papal visit. Giant screens, lighting structures, and fencing are being installed directly across from the Santiago Bernabéu, while renovation work inside the stadium has been temporarily paused.

Although the new glass panel installation in the north stand is nearly complete, pending work in the upper tiers will wait until after the visit. Once the visit concludes, renovations will resume with the goal of completing the system before the new season begins.
