Spain's DGT Deploys Connected Cones to Alert Drivers of Road Works

Spain’s Traffic Authority (DGT) is testing a new safety solution for road users. Connected traffic cones equipped with GPS and SIM connectivity can broadcast their exact position and status.

The data is fed into the DGT 3. 0 platform, allowing drivers to receive alerts before they see the physical cones.

The system is expected to improve safety for commuters and fans traveling to major sporting events. Netun Solutions and API Movilidad have become the first certified providers of the connected‑cone technology.
