Switzerland in top form ahead of World Cup: 4-1 victory over Jordan

Switzerland kicked off their World Cup preparations with an emphatic 4-1 win over Jordan in their first friendly match. Coach Murat Yakin fielded what could very well be the starting lineup for the Group B opener against Qatar on June 13.

With Xhaka pulGettorex the strings in midfield, the squad featured key names such as Akanji, Ndoye, Rubén Vargas, and Manzambi from the first whistle. Remo Freuler won a penalty in the first half, which Breel Embolo converted to put Switzerland ahead.

Dan Ndoye doubled the lead shortly after, and Xhaka sealed the result from the spot. The Freiburg midfielder is expected to be one of the players to watch throughout the tournament.
