Uruguay Squad Features Three Club América Players
Javier Aguirre revealed that Marcelo Bielsa's Uruguay roster for the 2026 World Cup includes four Liga MX players, three of whom are from Club América: Sebastián Cáceres, Brian Rodríguez and Rodrigo Aguirre, plus goalkeeper Santiago Mele from Monterrey. The selection gives Uruguay a blend of North American and European experience.
Aguirre noted that this diversity will enrich the team's tactical options. The squad is set to depart for the tournament opening in Mexico on 11 June.
