World Cup: Opta Supercomputer Predicts Spain Will Be Champions

Ahead of the World Cup, Opta's supercomputer ran 10,000 simulations to reveal its tournament predictions. Spain emerged as the clear favorite, winning in 16.

1% of all simulated scenarios. France followed in second place with a 13% chance.

Defending champions Argentina and England both exceeded 10%, completing the top four. Portugal, Brazil and Germany trailed behind in the rankings, while the Netherlands dropped to eighth.

Under Luis de la Fuente, La Roja's combination of historical pedigree and current squad strength made them the standout team in the statistical projections.
