The Metropolitan Museum of Art has officially decided to remove designer John Galliano as the focal point of the upcoming 2027 Met Gala exhibition. The project, initially titled 'John Galliano: Horizons', was announced on July 31 and aimed to honor the designer as one of the few living creators to receive such a tribute.

Furthermore, New York City Council President Julie Menin publicly urged the institution to reconsider the exhibition. The museum ultimately chose to pivot, acknowledging that the controversy had overshadowed the artistic intent of the project.
